Wesley Elmer for Judge

Wesley Elmer is running for Judge of the 12th Judicial District Court for Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. Guided by the principles of Fairness, Integrity, and Justice, he believes that every person who appears before the court should be treated respectfully and equally under the law. After more than three decades as an attorney, he has seen firsthand how important it is for judges to listen carefully, apply the law impartially, and treat every case with the seriousness it deserves.

Personal History

Professional Experience

A lifelong resident of Avoyelles Parish, Wesley was born and raised in Mansura. He is the son of the late Richard A. Elmer of Moncla and Priscilla Escude Allums of Mansura, and the stepson of the late Harvey “Butch” Allums of Bunkie. He is the father of two sons, Bo Justin Paul Elmer and Ethan Kyle Elmer, both of Mansura, and has one granddaughter.

 
Wesley's decision to run is rooted in his long-standing ties to the community and his belief in the importance of a fair and impartial judicial system.


He believes that the role of a judge requires not only knowledge of the law, but also patience, sound judgment, and respect for all individuals who come before the court.
 

30+ Years of Legal Experience

  • Law degree from Louisiana State University.​

  • Practices law throughout Louisiana in both state and federal courts.​

  • Has represented individuals, families, businesses, and governmental entities in a wide range of legal matters.​

  • Experience in family law, successions, real estate transactions, contracts, torts, civil rights, and insurance claims. ​

  • Experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in legal proceedings. â€‹

  • Served as Attorney for the Town of Mansura.​

  • Served as Attorney for the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
